Harry Nelson
President and Founder Moosic Mets Baseball
 Instructor, Evaluator

Presently works as an Associate Scout for the Boston Red Sox organization. Moosic Mets manager for 26 years both with  High School and College teams. Played Minor League baseball with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. Semi pro softball player with Parodi Cigar of the Eastern Seaboard League. Total of over 50 years in baseball. Coach Nelson offers individual baseball pitching and hitting instruction during the offseason.

Danny Nelson
Vice President, Special Pitching Instructor & Evaluator
A two-time Lackawanna League Player of the Year, Danny went on to play his collegiate baseball at Lackawanna Junior College, where he was an All-Region selection as both a Pitcher and Third Baseman. He was listed as one of the Top 50 Junior College Pitchers in the country. He later went on to play at Drexel University and Kutztown University. While at Kutztown, he was a First Team All-PSAC selection as a Pitcher and was an integral member of their 2001 World Series team. Danny was a two-time draft selection of the New York Mets in 1996 and 1998. Danny currently resides in Peckville, PA with wife Kathi and daughters Lilyana and Abigail.

Paul McGloin
General Manager, New York Yankees Scout, Instructor, evaluator
A graduate of West Scranton High School, McGloin played collegiate baseball at the University of Scranton and in the Northeastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Summer Baseball League. McGloin began coaching in 1997 and has had experience at various collegiate positions as well as serving as special envoy for Major League Baseball in Europe.  McGloin was the head baseball coach of West Scranton until taking the scouting position with the New York Yankees this past spring.. In 2008, he led the Invaders to the Lackawanna League Division I Championship for the first time since 1992. In the four seasons McGloin has been at the helm, West has also made two district semi – finals appearances. Coach McGloin is also the owner and head instructor at Electric City Baseball Academy, Davis Street Scranton...

Ron Chiavacci
Team Pitching Advisor
 
Pitched professionally with MLB's Montreal, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Philadelphia and Houston clubs as well as the South Korea Wyverns. Acts as the Moosic Mets Special Pitching Instructor working with many of the Mets pitchers during the off season. Ron currently owns and operates the ProStaff Baseball and Softball Training Facility Wheeler Ave. & E. Grove St. Dunmore PA.

Greg Legg
Special Instructor, Evaluator
 

Drafted in the 22nd round in 1982 out of Southeastern Oklahoma State by the Philadelphia Phillies played 13 seasons with the Phillies organization.  Made his Big League debut in 1986. The only player to ever have their number retired at the Lackawanna County Stadium.  Currently a coach with the Phillies Minor League affliate Lakewood Blue Claws.  Greg also coached the World Champion Phillies in 2008.  Greg has been in the Phillies organization since being drafted in 1982. Greg is a special instructor with the Moosic Mets and has also helped Coach Nelson conduct tryouts and evaluations. Currently resides in the Jessup Area with his wife Norine and children Jenna,Torry and Cooper. Legger would like us to note that he is officially 1-1 off Greg Maddux for his career.

Russ Canzler
Hitting  & Conditioning Advisor

Drafted in the 30th round in 2004 out of Hazelton Area High School by the Chicago Cubs, earned the Silver Slugger Award in 2006.

In November 2010 signed by the Tampa Rays as a free agent is currently listed on the Active Roster and will attend Big League camp. After finishing the 2011 season

on the Major league roster with the Rays, Russ was was traded to the Cleveland Indians organization and is currently on their major league roster. Russ serves as a

special hitting instructor for many of the Moosic Met players during the offseason.  Russ still resides in Hazelton during the off season.

Brian Jardine
Instructor,Evaluator
Played at Bishop O'Hara from 1990-93. Four year starter and letterwinner as a shortstop at Moravian College from 1994-97. Still holds many school defensive records. Began coaching as an assistant at University of Scranton for two years before serving in the same capacity in the Pocono Mountain School District. In 2007 he began working as a teacher and coach in the North Pocono school district and has been the Varsity head coach since 2009. He has record of 23-19 into this season. Coach Jardine serves as an instructor at many baseball camps including a seven year stint at ProStaff as well as the Moosic Mets summer camp.

Manager: Mike Zwanch        

Coach Zwanch is currently an Assistant baseball coach with the University of Scranton.  In 2009, as an Assistant Coach, he helped guide the Abington Heights Comets to the AAA PA State Championship with former Moosic Met and 1st round draft pick Cory Spangenberg.  Prior to his arrival at Abington Heights, Zwanch served as Assistant Coach / Recruiting Coordinator at Arcadia University in Glenside, PA, where the Knights reached the postseason each year he was present.  Before Arcadia, Coach Z was an assistant coach at Abington HS and the Suburban One National Carpenter Cup Team in suburban Philadelphia.   Zwanch also coached at Camden County College in Blackwood NJ where his pitchers were instrumental in guiding the Cougars to postseason.  He has also been an instructor/lecturer at numerous camps througout Pennsylvania.  A native of Peckville, he played professionally in the Independent Frontier League.  He excelled on the mound at Division 1 Drexel University and led the team in wins, strikeouts and innings for his two years with the Dragons.  Zwanch played two seasons at Lackawanna Jr. College in Scranton, PA serving as team captain and was selected 1st team all-region as a pitcher.   Currently he is the Gifted Coordinator in the Valley View School District, residing in Eynon with his wife Krishelle and daughter Lydia.
